No hose at Sak’s Fifth Avenue? Good grief!
But then again, where was it?
Department stores in my area have shrunk their displays, but still have not totally abolished them. I was at a Penney’s not too long ago, and they were down to just a single, four-sided rack. Sears is kind of the same way at some of more suburban stores in this area. Dillards and Macy’s still look pretty healthy, but still no comparison to even a decade ago.
One chain in this area, Elder Beerman has a store near my hometown that used to have 4 or 5 racks. Last time I was there it was gone, and I feared the worst. That is until I found a lone rack pigeonholed into the corner of the lingerie department. Actually, kind of better that way, a little more secluded than being right out in the open by the busy jewelry and cosmetic counters.
I shudder at the thought of the next ten years.

The first 2 posts are almost enough to make you weep, especially the comments made by the bint to indyrenew. Same thing over here guys- one of our department stores, Debenhams, have went pretty much the way of the stores mentioned by indyrenew and Adina to the extent that the day can’t be too far off when they decide to pull the plug altogether. As for House of Fraser, their content can’t be faulted, but in their Glasgow branch the hosiery is now hidden away in a broom cupboard behind the shoe dept.
Thank goodness, I can buy hose on the Internet. Same situation around here in Chicago, not a lot of places have a great selection of hosiery. There is a Fogal hosiery store on Michigan Ave. though.
Oh and as soon as the temps went up, flip-flops started poppin’ up yesturday and today, b4 the temps went down.
Just want I wanted to see, crow’s feet! Just lost my lunch!!!
It seems that some of the Macy’s here in the DFW metroplex has limited the brands and styles they carry. They have next to eliminated their Hue brands fashion hose. For those who live in Dallas, Texas, the Nordstrom at the Galleria carries the best selection. Dilliards, also carries many brands over a lot of the other stores. And last but not least, walmart has cut their selection down quite a bit.

Hey all long time since I posted !
Nah, hosiery depts are not gone around me! Here in southern Ohio and West Virginia where I live all the major dept stores have pretty good selections. Kohls, Penneys, & Sears all have large displays. Wal Mart even has more than one rack of hose!
