nylon stockings high heels

OK let me ask you this, when was the last time you had worn them before you noticed the change.

I think I know what you’re talking about. Since about 2002 or so you can no longer get the reinforced toes directly off the shelf. At the retail stores in my area, the selection is limited to Active Support with only sheer toe in Suntan, Off Black, Taupe, or Nude.

If you go to the outlet stores for Leggs/Hanes/Bali, or order out of the OneHanesPlace catalog, you can still get reinforced toe, and other colors like Navy and Coffee.

The control top texture is indeed different. I kind of miss it myself. I still have a few pairs of the “old” style. If I get a chance, I’ll post a few shots of me in each, and let you “compare” them.

I still wish they would offer them in Jet Black. They do so with regular Sheer Energy. Why can’t they do this with A.S. since they all come from the same mill.

I’ve noticed this with Hanes Absolutely Ultra Sheer. Some are sheerer and more old fashioned looking than others. I believe it has to do with the hosiery mill they contract to manufacture their PH. They don’t make their own you know. No hosiery manufacturer to my knowledge does. It’s all contracted out to hosiery mills mostly located in North Carolina.
I noticed the change about a year ago. I don’t get the reinforced toes, I prefer the “regular panty” with the sheer toe. I think there is a stw that has reinforced toes, but like I said I much prefer sheer toe. What I’d really prefer is stw with sheer toe.

It’s definitely softer than it used to be, I’ll give it that, but the sheen, while still there, is less oily-shiny and more just a soft shine.

I have some older pairs, but they’re all from when I was skinnier…I’ve gone from a B to a Q in recent years.
