Yes, sheer-to-waist was around in the 1970’s and 80’s. I recall an ad from DuPont about nylon with a model in nothing but sheer-to-waist from 1972. It was popular since hot pants were the rage from 1970 to about 1972 .

When I was young back then I liked RT better but STW was much preferred by the girls at school and I came to like them better.

Women wore strappy heels like they do today, but it was considered more attractive to wear at least sandalfoot hose instead of bare feet. I’d see suntan about 80% of the time with taupe and coffee making up the other 20%.

The cotton gusset or panel did not come around till about 1978-1979. With some brands, there’d be only a seam, others had the pattern that Sheer Energy has today. I always found that sexy.

That line makes me think about my grade school days.

The school I attended from K-3rd grade (would have been from ‘71 to ‘75) had a secretary who was always stylishly dressed, and I can still remember being facsinated by her feet when she wore sandals and reinforced toe hose.

speaking of grade school days, at my schools, we were often punished by being made to put our heads down on our desks. Or, we had the option of putting our heads down on our own if we felt sick or tired. My trick was to lay my forehead on the front edge of the desk so I could look at the wondrous legs and feet in pantyhose and high heeled strappy sandals that were so plentiful then. I don’t think anyone ever suspected!

I remember this time in high school– I was a Freshman in the band room.

Our school had both a cheer and pom line. The pom line girls wore tan pantyhose under a very short one piece dress outfit that flared out at the waist.

Anyway, this cute pom line girl comes in to the band room from down the hall (where the gym and locker rooms were) and she’s barefoot in hose– no shoes and socks. My kind of view.

Better yet, although she’s moving carefully, I could tell she wasn’t wearing the usual dark colored bloomers under her pom dress– her white panties peaked out from under her dress as she stood talking to this guy.

She finally sat down at the piano and was screwing around with it– playing a few simple tunes while her nyloned feet worked the pedals. I don’t know why but I found that VERY erotic and still do.

I tell you to this day that remains a favorite memory that still haunts my dreams.
