I wanted to post on that one idiots board, but its currently locked. Well I think I can dismiss just about everything they say in the bible about homosexuality.

The only thing that I kind of have a problem with in homosexuality is that most of it takes place before marriage (even though Im not a virgin) since it is non existent in most of this country, but if they could change this, it is 100% acceptable.

1) (This is to calling us sinners) and your not a sinner?

2) Homosexuality was NEVER mentioned by Jesus. Apparently he didn’t feel that it was very important. What Jesus KNEW was important is for hatred and bigotry to leave this world and those were the people Jesus spoke out against. You are nothing more than the hypocrites and a pharisees Jesus stood his ground against.

3) Sodom and Gomorrah sins were sexual sins. Probably the biggest of which was when God sent down one of his angels there and they tried to rape it. Rape is terrible no matter what then circumstances are, so most historians agree that there raping tenancies led to their doom.

4) Leviticus says it is fine to fuck a slave or an animal if your wife is pregnant. Laws change with time periods in order to adapt.

5) The ONLY verse that says homosexuals go to hell in the bible is labeled in Corinthians (side note: the Corinthians were also rapists and people of that such) with just about every single sin that you can commit (gluttony, lust, HATRED (*hint*hint*), drunkards, murder, envy) and says that these people will not inherit the kingdom of God. I love it how fundamentalists love so very much to take that verse out of context because if they read on the next verse says: For REJOICE, for you have been SAVED by the love and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (if I remember correctly). (note: Im not saying if your not a Xtain that you are going to hell). Also it is very debatable if homosexuality was put in by fundamentalists in the 60s. Originally it was perverted or a similar synonym, then it was MALE perverts, and then it became homosexuals, not enough for many people to notice.

6) It is possible that David and Jonathon had a homosexual relationship.

7) I thought you fundamentalists go around saying that no sin is greater than another. Apparently not for homosexuals. How about you open up a fat camp, tell all the fat people they are going to hell, and kill themselves if they don’t get skinny just so "there can be less fat people to make other kids fat. Plus your going to hell anyway." There was a gay reparative therapy camp (also known as a concentration camp) that told the kids that every time they left the camp to go kill themselves if they weren’t straight. Of course those camps don’t work, they just lead to years of horrible years of children being suicidal and possibly killing themselves. No other class of people are treated this way in America and it is just wrong.

My God is a God of love, not hatred. Why would he have put me on this earth to have something wrong with me that is probably genetic or starts in the womb for something that I 100% can not do anything about? It sounds like you serve a far different God than I do.

9) There are FOUR (count them: FOUR) verses in the bible that directly mention homosexuality, while there are thousands on hatred, bigotry, pride, stupidity, wickedness, and deceitfulness, all of which you idiot fundamentalists represent. Look into yourselves next time and find out that you may be the ones who are actually going to hell for your crimes against humanity.

10) This may surprise you, but you have reached the first stage on the five stages of acceptance- Denial and you are starting to go into the second- Anger. You are denying that you are a homosexual and judging that you are in a homosexual forum trying to make fun of us, I’m going to say that you are between 12 and 16. It’s ok, we all went through this faze. When you get past the bartering stage, come back here and talk rationally. You are in my prayers.
Jesus is all about Love,His message was Love,..not hatred or bigitory,I don’t know how the evengalist and such feel they have the authority to preach hatred,fear and bigitory ect ect,..because thats not what its about at all.These evengalist dudes are just people like you and me,.they’re nothing more than that.I pay them no mind,..There are alot of sick people in the world,..but a sick person with power is a dangerous person.That’s the frightening part,that they can control so many people with hatred,and have such an intense amount of control on our society.Scary world.

I understand your intentions, but really, what you are doing is just going to fuel more homophobia. I suggest this thread be taken down soon as it will just cause more hatred for and among this community. You cannot expect someone to accept your point of view so simply. Honestly - what do you expect someone to think when they read this? Imagine someone, from coming across from another point of view attempted to do the same (a homophobic person that is). Would you sway to their way of thinking because of a mere few points? No! You would instead become angry and resentful and more defiant in your stance. LEave it
Soaring Eagle - I understand what you mean, but honestly, this thread will just generate more hatred for our community. Even though we shouldn’t just allow ourselves to be abused like this, attempting to change someone’s mind about something so controversial in this way will not work. Just imagine coming from the homophobes point of view. Imagine a homophobe came onto the forum and did the exact opposite. You would not say "Oh, he makes a good point," - you’d become more angry and defiant and would just end up liking the homophobe less! Even if you know that s/he is wrong, it doesn’t matter because they believe that they are RIGHT. One cannot win an argument in such a way. You have to attempt to see the other person’s point of view before you can argue against it. These people have believed that gay people are "evil" or whatever probably since they were small children and now you’re telling them that what their parents most likely told them is wrong? It just wont work!

If we’re going to combat homophobia, we need to form a strategy for doing so and not create this little make-shift anti-homophobia threads which unfortunately will have the opposite effect to the intended purpose.

I ask you again Quagmire - what is the purpose of this thread? What do you hope to achieve? What do you expect to achieve through what you have said? I honestly cannot see any good coming from what you have said…merely bad and hatred.

some trolls are ready to have theyre minds open i know of 3 people i talked to personaly who came here as trolls, hate groups recruite these kids to troll boards like these, alot of these kids who do the trolling arent treated very wellby the very people who recruite them some are ready to have theyre minds open the others are too desperate for tye approval of theyre so called freindfs so try to impress them with the trouble they stir up, unfortunately it backfires for some & they realize what theyre fighting for is the lie & they find more acceptence here with open minded people, yes many may be more defiant & angry thats theyre problem, but, some do see ther truth some are more then ready ..& like i said ive talked to 3 who were trolls but now are part of our community, learning, being openminded & findintg acceptence..if you affect the way 1% think.. you tip the scales..you make a difference..the angry defiant ones who just attack & are unwilling to debate or listen to reason dont last very long …if theyre angry attacks disapear & are forgotten then does it matter if they attack? but if 1 persons minds changed… that matters
hate threads and threads that are against homosexuality are different, theres a fine line, but they are different.
this thread I would class as abusive

however a thread that is discussing wether homsexuality is a sin is not and I wouldn’t automaticulary delete the latter thread, because what would it say if I did, it would suggest that as gay men we can’t be challenged.

discussions like these should not be removed, because if people can put up antigay threads and use the bible as their evidence (and they can in some areas of the forums) then its only fair that people use the same evidence to support being gay and to challenge others.
Now I agree that its unlikly that ten homophobic people will read this and then change their opinons, but what threads like this do, is slowly drip into other peoples minds the other point of view.
A person that reads this, might that week, accidently read in a magazine an account of a homophobic attack, then later watch the end of a programme that talks about the effects of homophobia, all this could start this person reflecting on their points of view, however if we remove anything from the gay communities that may just cause unpleasentness, we will never make any changes.

This thread isn’t going to negativily effect the gay forums, because I won’t let it, however people may realise that should they read this they may read some negative comments about gay people, but we can’t have a discussion without that and nothing will change if we try and sweep everything that can cause unpleasentness under the carpet

Thank you Glen, I wanted to give that "homophobe" hateful person a piece of my mind too…Look, we are who we are people. I agree that most gays have sex without marriage, and I think gay marriage is fine AS long as they LOVE ONE ANOTHER. If, they dont get married their choice. I believe in Jesus and know his word, and it DEFINITELY was not, HATE GAY PEOPLE. Definitely NOT! Jesus had tolerance and this is what fellow Christians need to understand, people cannot help who they are and THEY are NOT here to JUDGE … God will judge someone if they have done something wrong, sinned, whatever…IT IS NOT up to OTHER ~HUMANS~ who are sinners just like everyone else, to judge what another does. At least the gays accept who they are, and are open about it. And no, Im not saying others are not open about what they do and dont know who they are, thats beside the point.

Main point…don’t judge others…that’s what GOD is there to do, among other things

This world is going to hell in a handbasket, global warming, genocides, famine, etc. and all people can think about is what other people do inside the bedroom, and who another person is with…come on…grow up and stop worrying. LOVE IS LOVE. Now, if they cheat and have multiple sex partners, thats THEIR choice, not my, or any other person’s place, to tell them to stop. Tolerance…the BEST policy, like i always say…

Samhain - you got the essential part of what I was getting at. Even though Quagmire makes what seem like some excellent points to us, homophobic morons will see them as challanging their thoughts and beliefs.

And I think peacechicka makes an excellent point - something I’ve thought about before - but there are much bigger and more important things going on in the world than two guys fucking which essentially is the placement of a penis which is made up of atoms and stuff being stuck into a hole which is essentially also made up of atoms. OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOO! U R EVIL U IS GOINGZ TO HELL LOLOlol1!!11! But I guess you can’t blame them…Homophobes were brought up by stupid asshole morons so there is most likely no hope for them.
I gave up on "Christians" and the "Bible" a long time ago. Not only does the Bible defy common sense, many of the people that follow it take it literally when it suits their purpose, and metaphorically when it does not. Then there are people who take the "metaphorical" sections literally.

For me the truth is simple, we are all part of creation. Isn’t that amazing enough? I agree that this thread is a silppery slope that can only poison this forum.

If straight people were gay, they’d realize the truth of it as surely as they realize their heterosexual truth. I’m grateful for those who can make what, to me, seems to be a common sense leap.
