Okay i just read a little about Rainbow. it sounds quite intresting but im still a little lost. first what does LEO stand for? second, i’ve been planning to "walk the earth" after i graduate high school, so is there any particular group that travels around the country? third does rainbow frown upon the use of marijuana? i heard a couple of people mention people having a belly button whats with that? i would look these up on my own but i have a limited time each day on this computer and i have other subjects i need to research. thank you.

All Rainbows have there own opinions concerning controled substances (including alcohol) There are drug/alcohol free kitchens at Gatherings and alcohol is generally frowned upon inside the main Gathering but is acceptable in A-camp

While there’s thread like this going around, I got a question too.

I’ve heard the term ‘Aggro’ being tossed about. I’m assuming that it’s short for Aggrovated, just like in videogame terminology.

So which came first? Has the ‘Aggro’ term been used for over more than a decade with the rainbows? Was it something that seeped in from a more modern culture or it is an old school term that some nerd eneded up using down the road.

Etymology intrigues me, even if I can’t spell it!!
aggro well rainbow terminology evolves over the years but many terms i hear 1st at a gathering then spreads out through more normal culture from there

What do we do?? All kinds of stuff! Some folks put a great deal of their energy into helping with the many kitchens, there’s all sorts of things that need to be done to run a kitchen, wood gathering, water carrying, veggie chopping & those are just basics. Folks play music, there’s a huge variety of musicians at Gatherings. There are workshops, like meditation, yoga, ect. It’d take days to name all the things that folks do at Gatherings but the biggie is the prayer for world peace on the 4th of July.
Plan to take over the world! Mu-wa ha ha ha ha…….
Dude, wake up and rage! Be a fat kid and cook with shut up and eat it. Remember to always share your zuzus with the Grateful Dread, and dont eat the krishna cookies! Kick down to Nic at Night, and drink lotsa Montana Mud. Wake up early with the bird, then go hit the magic bowl. Always love your brothers and sisters, they’re the only ones ya got, oh, and its your turn for a water run….
awwww man.. last summer i went to the national gathering.. it was my first gathering other than a regional one from when i was a baby that i dont remember… it was amazing though.

The possibilities are limitless at a gathering. you will never be bored because there is always something going on. Drums beat in the distance dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn and everywhere you turn there is a friendly face welcoming you home. Money is taboo and you’ll never se so many adults go so crazy over candy (zuzus). The spirit of peace, love, and comradship is all over and just being there gives you an overwhelming sense of harmony. You really feel at home and that if you try you can make a differnece. The gathering changed my percpective on life and opened my mind in so many ways!

I cant wait until next summer!!!

What do we do at Rainbow?
Anything & Everything!

Gather with friends & family new & old, hike in the beautiful forest, eat delicious food, drum & dance, listen to all kinds of music, trade at the trade circle, help out at kitchens or whoever needs it, explore nature & each other, tell stories, warm up by the fires, attend workshops like herb walks or yoga classes, have a spiritual experience, share in the healing energy all around, watch the fire dancers or the talent show, just be, and pray for world peace on the 4th….

So much to do, you’ll just have to come to a gathering & find out for yourself! :p
