Why do you force opinions on people, why are you demanding us to be pro or against gays? Why cant people be left alone?

This is much like politics, some people are liberal others conservative, and then there are people that dont care, and dont want to have an opinion.

Why cant the gay stand be like that?
when one of us is treated unfairly, it’s an insult to ALL of us. my sexuality has never affected my life, positively or negatively, i blend in. but seeing my friends denied their rights, denied their dignity, denied respect over something so assinine as you don’t like who they sleep with, that’s injustice. i’m no more okay with that than i am with people being treated unfairly for the color of their skin. in a perfect world, none of this would matter, but it’s not a perfect world, and there ARE issues to care about and deal with from every perspective, lifestyle and philosophy.

and for you to put blinders on for the simple fact that you find it a nuisance is not only naive in the extreme, but flagrant laziness.
I think that if everyone in this world was like Aladdin and didn’t care, the world would be a better place. If nobody cared if someone was gay then they wouldn’t care if they got married, adopted, etc. There’d be no reason to treat GLBT people unfairly because it wouldn’t even be an issue.

Unfortunately some people do have a problem with homosexuality for various reasons. If we don’t take a stand then we get sent to the gallows. Sure we would try to cover it up but it will only result in an unhappy life. I’d rather die than be forced to live a lie and I might as well die fighting for equality.

Nobody is asking you to join the fight, and why should you? It doesn’t affect you, not yet at least. You said you wouldn’t care if your children were gay. That’s great to hear. How would you feel if your children were being mistreated or abused because of something so insignifigant. Think about it for a moment. It may not affect you directly but it may affect the lives of those you care about.
