hey uk brothers and sisters. i live in newcastle upon tyne so i gues i qualify to be part of the crew! the uk rainbow already had a yahoo address which is used for organising the european gathering. there is a link to it in the thread about the gathering.

great idea though to try and get us all aware of each other. hope we can all have some interesting chats and connect to each other a bit. do any other people on here do the UK camp scene?
ill be doing the uk camp scene this year. just as a visitor at the moment but if i come across anyone that needs an extra pair of hands for anything then i’ll do my bit too.
well at the moment just the uk hippy gathering and the european rainbow gathering and im working on my funds for america too. not sure how that will go. any other ones i should know about?
do you guys already know where the gathering will be held? i heard it was illegal to have it in england… legal or not, i want to be there
Hi, there’s info about the European Gathering in England on this thread:

We don’t have a site for the gathering yet but a friend of mine who found the site for the 03 gathering has done some dowsing for me and come up with a place that the scouts should be checking out soon.

The legal status of the gathering is obviously confusing. We should have absolutely no problem though if we get permission from the land owner, so please don’t worry guys about the police. And anyway, don’t forget what they used to say on the peace convoy, ‘watch out boys in blue, the hippies are after you!’

The thing with dogs is that there will be a lot of folks who want to walk around without shoes on and that doesn’t mix well with dog shit. Also the site will probably be on rural land which means that there will be live stock near by and this may mean that we can’t have dogs. If dogs are alowed then their owners must take full responsibility for them and their shit. This can be hard work at a gathering, and I don’t enjoy seeing dogs locked up in caravans or kept on leashes all day.
