anybody know what’s up with the two gatherings for the beggining of july? one in colorado and one in the ozarks… seems silly to have them both at the same time. is there some sort of east coast-west coast thing going on?
The Ozark one happens every year in the same place, at least I think it does. Reason being that that area of the country and south and east of that area are usually very far from the gathering site often too far for many folks. So this Oark gathering is there for folks who either can’t or don’t want to make the much longer trip to the site of the big national.

Okay, since we were the KC focalizers for many years, and saw all of this as it was starting, we’re gonna try to explain this as kindly as possible….

There were some folks in KC & some folks in St. Louis who started some regionals down in the Ozarks. we never went to those regionals, so we don’t know what the vibe was but one day at a Schwagstock a bro came up to us & started going on about how Rainbow had it all wrong and he knew a better way. This bro was a part of a tribe calling themselves the Peace Conspiracy. At some point, these regionals started happening on the same dates as the National/Annual and the focalizers putting them together started calling the Ozarks gatherings ‘A Gathering of the Tribes’. Different folks go to the ‘A Gathering’ for different reasons but there is some ‘anti-Rainbow’ sentiment that resides in some of the folks that attend the ‘A Gathering’. we personally refuse to have anything to do with the ‘A Gathering’ because we see it as the Peace Conspiracy trying to cause a split in Rainbow, but that’s just our opinion…
I too had wondered what was up with the Ozark tribe gathering. I thought it was neat to have one nearer to many folks unable to travel to the actual annual gathering but wondered whether there was more to it. Thanks for sharing what you knew … or at least some of what is known.

Am I not correct…that the Missouri 96′ was both gatherings together but was a small camp about 30 miles of the big one? I was there at the big one with along with a kitchen an was my very first gatherin. It was beautiful…we came early about a week..parked in A-camp first then got in bus village.
I had a wonderful an magical experience an so did my traveling partner

The peace conspiracy has been wrong, wrong, wrong, more times then they have been contrite or humble about.

They do however deserve the right to make mistakes, and to be forgiven. I find it easy to forgive, because i need the forgiveness of my peers. Though I myself try to be humble and contrite, but in truth i don’t think many folks notice, and some just see it as a weakness, and others a con. So, wtf.

It is my opinion that some good points have been missed, and a lot of energy wasted, by the lack of grace shown by some of the PC organizers. And it’s a damn shame. I could tell you the real skinny, but i will not thrill you with tales of train wrecks, i will instead try to do the right thing.

Rasta fari. There will come a day when the rainbow culture is known the world over. There will be gatherings in every time zone, and in every country, every state, and every forest in the world. There will be gatherings in every park, and those that can not go out of town will have gatherings in the courthouse lawn, and in their own front yards, and in block parties.
The day will come when all these gatherings take place on the same day, and the silence will follow the dawn around the world, and the ohm will follow the noon around the world, and the world will know us by our way, and the world will never be the same.

On the other hand that does not give anyone the right to use something without grace. I advise the peace conspiracy organizers to use a lot more grace. Nobody can have that much controversy in a theoretically transparent situation without there being at least one thing that was a legitamate complaint.
I may have missed it (as i said, i am wrong often, and i try to be contrite about it so i can be forgiven), but i have never heard an official statement about how they were wrong, and are changing. They sometimes change something, but often after quite a large fuss, and never with an apology.
I for one believe that a few contrite apologies over the years would have gone a long way towards recinding the opinion that they were hiding something or out for themselves. I have advised them to do so for years, and they have never taken my advice.

No i will not tell the dirty details. I will say that there is a lot of good everywhere, if you are not looking for bad.
By the way, i support mutiple rainbow gatherings, but as far as i can tell the peaceconspiracy gathering is being called an agott gathering and is somehow not a peace conspiracy gathering or a rainbow gathering, but a . . . . . well you would have to go there for yourself and see. I have been there, and when i called it a rainbow gathering the organizers got really mad.
What’s more important is that there have been for the last few 6 or more years, a half a dozen rainbow gatherings on the fourth of july, including a traditional one in russsia.

Grace, can see where that would help PC; maybe some kindness & respect for the other fellow inhabitants of the planet & Rainbow. we get a little tired of the AGR reteric on the whole thing, people pushing their own points of view & not respecting the fact that all are entitled to their own points of view.

Heard a fun idea for coping with leo invasions at Rainbow that involves multiple Gatherings….several Gatherings within a 500 mile radium with shuttles moving between them….sounds like great fun to us!
