oh just so folks know there are still 2 sets of directions being sent around pointing to 2 seperate sites but it seems like this is unoficialy official or officialy onoficial..or whatever, but this site is the 1 everyones going to
go home you hippies. leave us newton/madison county people alone. we don’t want you here.

nonhippie, I feel your pain. How do we know Moses had a soft spot deep in his heart for Pharoh? He never cursed Egypt with a plague of hippies. And believe you me, a lot of us hippies would rather not be going to Rednecksville, AR. BUT, it looks like we’re stuck with each other for the time being, so let’s make the best of it, shall we?
at least the hippies will be leaving a nice chunk o’green in the area…I gotta wonder how many business owners have retired & passed the business down to the kids after a Gathering was near their small town..I know that folks with the hot springs/cafe in Nevada did after the ‘89 Annual, they were the only thing within 30 miles…
From the people of Clarksville, I’d like to say welcome home! I’m sure many here will be glad for any local buisness the gathering generates and there are a few freaks here as well who’ll be glad to have it so close to home. Last year I drove over 1000 miles and this year the gatherings almost in my backyard, far out!
Last year was my first gathering and I’m not sure if I know how to help out really, I only gathered sticks and worked a bit in one of the krishna kitchens, but since I live so close (Clarksville’s about 30 min from Fallsville) and am job free atm I was wondering what kinda of help people might need who are arriving early to setup. I have carpal tunnel so I can’t lift heavy stuff or do much repetitive so I’m not sure I would be of much use.

Also I would like to thank the people here who talked me into going last year, it was a great and unique experience.
Diode, you can help loads with allowing all the influx to really know the area and it’s people. We might be heading for forest, but there’s a lot of state around it!
Would you mind starting a thread about the area with links to local news and stuff like that?
diode another thing you can do as a local being familiar with local store owners & such you can prepare the locals for whats to come, i’m sure theyve been approached already but someone they know may be able to talk to them easier.
as a general rule we will go around to local stores before the gatherings & not only talk to them about what to stock up on like bulk food items but we also go around & request that they keep track of anything that is shoplifted & offer reimbursment (shoplifting has never been known to increase significantly & theyre always overjoyed with the proffits they make so reimbursments never needed but the offer & reassurance goes a long way towards freindly relations & cooperation) you can educate locals in what to expect & can write letters to the editor of local papers in responce to any negative media attention received. as a local theres so much you can do that doesnt require taking shovel in hand & digging a shitter… but keep in mind that when communicating with with locals & especialy media it should be done as a group & not an individual so try to work with other rainbows especialy those with experience. what you can do as a job at the gathering that would be most helpful would be to work at welcome home or info (welcome home maybe the most useful) being both a local & family you can assist in difusing any dissension, & clear up misunderstandings. you can also really help people who arrive to be prepared for what to expect on site, & local weather as well as help rainbows understand the attitudes of locals like nohippie & others who may not be as open minded (and dont realize the massive potential boom to the local economy)
but the most important thing you can do is educate people like nohippie on the possitive aspects of family & try to dispell all the negative stereotypes.
everything u do for family has equal importance wether its lifting heavy objects or opening 1 closed mind
(im not accusing nohippie of closemindedness i understqand how it must feel to have 20,000 people you dont understand & perhaps even fear descend on your home. i just know that if you take the time to sit down & have a conversation with a few of the people who you assume you dont want there then you may just find that your glad they showed up in your back yard & touched your life forever. or you’ll at least discover they arent as bad as you assummed they were. for after all arent some of us your neighbours & freinds, & some freinds who u never would have met if we hadnt shown up in your back yard? nohippie i really think you should try to look at this as an opportunity not a hassle. look at it as a chance to meet & understand a different type of folks then u might meet everyday. if you understand alittle more about humanity as a whole from the experience then how has it negatively impacted you? i know in ways it can be a hassle, increased traffic, longer lines at stores, more unusual (and therefore suspicious automatically because of theyre unusualness) people around the neighbourhood may lessen your sence of security & control of your local environment.. i understand that you feel like your being invaded by something you never asked for.. but try to see the possitives in it.
im so bleh i cant make it this year, but my heart and soul is gunna be with you guys out in israel , prayin for this great mother earth from out there.. true and true.
Hello Diode!!!!!

I want to give you a big Rainbow Hug just for asking what kinds of help you can offer!!!
fucking gay pictures

Diode, you don’t say much about what you can do, but here’s an example of what a bro did, at the MT Gathering in ‘00. A local mechanic felt some sympathy for all the broke hippies with brokedown vehicles. But early July is time to make hay in that part of the country, and he had to keep all the farmer’s equipment working in the fields so everybody could get paid. But he worked out a trade with a Rainbow mechanic. He let this bro use his shop after hours to get the hippie’s clunkers on the road in trade for his labor on Farm equipment. Gosh, isn’t that a great little rainbow story? Everybody wins. You a mechanic? Have a brother in law that’s one? Maybe I gave you an idea?
yeah!!! until the gathering, at stores or churches talk to folks about the rainbow, ayyy u hear of these folks? you know, i hear they’re mighty fine people, done lots of positive things around this earth, they sure did..

some church woman hearin some good word about the rainbow man… oooo~~~ that’s some goood word waiting to be shared over tea or , some more church :p
that’d be some gooood seed, warming up the town before the flocks if i could say so myself..
Thanks for the hug hippiestead I’ve been trying to spread a positive impression of the gathering since people started showing up around Danville. It seems theres a lot of exaggerations being passed around here and I’ve helped to correct those a bit I hope. Like today my cousin, an otherwise rational guy, said he heard that around 200,000 people were expected. I asked if the news media had said that and he replied no but his buddy had told him it would be 200,000 and thats what was going around! Anyway family are already in town now and it will be these first few that do the most to set people’s impressions I think.
Beaming out the posi-vibe is the best thing that folks can do.

4029TV says 20,000

200,000 is a definate tall tale…very tall
20 K is the default number used every year: Paionia, Tres Piedres, Missouri, Utah, Steamboat…
Basically, that’s what locals prepare for.
just pulled this off the oklahoma rainbow myspace
(btw my ride fell thru so if your headed home from east coast pm me!!!)

Howdy folks,

come on down to the National Gathering in Fallsville, Arkansas. From
east or west take I-40 to Clarksville Arkansas. There are three exits
at Clarksville, look for the Hwy.21 exit. Go north on 21 into
Clarksville. The Creek Festival is this weekend in Clarksville, lots
of tourists and bikes. Drive slow in town. Follow Hwy. 21 right at
light downtown, about a mile east on Hwy.64/21N. Hwy. 21 leaves Hwy.64
and goes north into the mountains. You will climb about 2000 ft to get
to Fallsville on Hwy.21, it is crooked but a very good Hwy. Fallsville
is 28 miles north of Clarksville. At Fallsville you will come to a
fork in the Hwy. or a "Y" in the Hwy. This is the Jct. of Hwy.16 and
there is the Fallsville Gas Station and tiny store. Very kind locals
run the store and should be greeted warmly and with much love and
gratitude.

Here you will find lots of cops. The road into the site is to the
right of the store 1 3/4 miles. It is the 2nd dirt road on the left.
Just past an old cemetery. Just before the 2nd road you will see the
"Six-Up" Kitchen on the right side of Hwy.21. Just past this police
gay pictures samples
"Base Camp" turn left into the USFS road block/welcome home. I went in
about 5:00pm and they only checked drivers license of drivers in
vehicle and visual search for open containers. $75.00 fine for open
containers. The Feds are being cool and pretty nice. I got through
quickly. They do have drug dogs so be prepared. If you look like a
problem, they will search you.

A camp is a few hundred feet further. All buses and campers park there
or where ever Fast Eddie says to park. The road down to the river is
windy and steep, but a good road. You can park anywhere you can get
all 4 tires off the road. Parking is tight and the road is lined with
cars and hard to turn around on. If your vehicle is big, or not good
on steep roads then park up top and shuttle/walk in. Road meets the
main trail at the bottom but actually crosses the Buffalo River next
to the family bridge. No one should cross the river. If you don’t see
parking, turn around carefully and go back up. I highly recommend
parking up top. We need to keep the road open for supply, etc.

There is an excellent Kitchen at the beginning of Main Trail called
Crispy Critter Cafe. You can soak in the cool waters of the Buffalo
about fifty yards away. The best kitchen so far is Shut-Up & Eat It.
Also I recommend the A.R.F kitchen Arkansas Rainbow Family from
Fayetteville. I saw Tea Time, Kiddy-Village, PPK, Phat Camp and at
least two dozen kitchens. There is lots of water but you should boil
links gay pictures
or filter it. There are springs everywhere down here and easy to tap
for a kitchen. Main trail is level and wide, curving through a dense
forest along the Buffalo valley for a couple of miles.

This is a true forest gathering. No meadows being found nearby.
However it is a very beautiful and wild place in the wilderness of the
upper headwaters of the Buffalo. Lots of swimming and plenty of
camping room, it’s just deep forest and you must be prepared for the
poison ivy and slippery spots along the trails. No big hills except on
the road in. The road was improved with a bulldozer and trucks of
gravel by the USFS just for the family. Main trail is a little muddy
but even after a huge rain today, about 2 inches of rain fell in about
an hour, the trail was still easy to negotiate, even in the dark. One
thing about all the rain and the dense forest, there is Fox-Fire
everywhere. (Phosphorescent wood that glows in the dark).

Bring small flashlights and batteries, candles, torches, etc. The
forest is very dark at night. Send food stuff, tobacco, and kind
energy. We drove out at about 1:30am and didn’t see one single USFS or
Cop anywhere.

Ignore all rumors of cancellation and "alternate sites". There are
about one to two thousand folks there already.
