anybody know what’s up with the two gatherings for the beggining of july? one in colorado and one in the ozarks… seems silly to have them both at the same time. is there some sort of east coast-west coast thing going on?
The Ozark one happens every year in the same place, at least I think it does. Reason being that that area of the country and south and east of that area are usually very far from the gathering site often too far for many folks. So this Oark gathering is there for folks who either can’t or don’t want to make the much longer trip to the site of the big national.

During previous gatherings I have either been pregnant or living out of my Rv, thus I never had to worry about the issue of what to do if I have my cycle during a gathering. I had water & a sink in my RV to wash my rags in … this year we are in a tent, I am not pregnant, and unsure whether there will be water available for washing menstral cloths if my time is arrives. Seems to me that tampons would take way too long to decompose in a shitter. Even the Seventh Generation brand tampons / pads, when reading the packaging, sound like the same environmental problem. What do other sisters do? Loving some ideas …..

What a nice post. It caused me to smile, so thanks. Hope your day is also cheery & blessed. I am spending my day slow baking bananas into chips for the gathering. I have never done this before so I am hoping they turn out okay (or great!), I am also researching how to create a tasty, light weight (due to needing to pack it in) veggie / nature burger to bring for the Kiddie kitchen. We bought bulk oats a while back & have way more than I know what to do with so I figured feeding the group is a good thing.

Well, not strictly rainbow related, but I’m most likely going to be driving to Colorado with my boyfriend (and someone else if anyone needs a ride).. but I’m wondering if maybe I should just try to find a ride with someone who is going that way from here…….. because I haven’t really driven very far..

Is it insanely hard driving through cities, or on busy interstates…… should I try to avoid the cities if I drive? Any tips for first time distance drivers (I’ve been driving since I was 16, had my license since I was 18, and had one minor accident… I’m not a "bad" driver, just inexperienced) The furtherest I’ve ever driven would be like Richmond which is 3 hours from me…. nothing like 20some hours.. I don’t get lost easily and am good with one way streets, if that helps anything.
